“Ketamine Queen” Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison in Connection with Matthew Perry’s Death

A drug trafficker known as the “Ketamine Queen” was sentenced on Wednesday to 15 years in prison for her role in supplying the substance that led to the death of actor Matthew Perry, the star of the hit TV series Friends, according to Reuters.

Jasveen Sangha, 42, a dual U.S.-British citizen, was found guilty of direct involvement in the distribution of ketamine—a powerful anaesthetic—that proved fatal to the actor in 2023.

According to investigators, Sangha admitted to operating what authorities described as a “stash house” for illegal narcotics from her residence in the North Hollywood district of Los Angeles. In September 2025, she pleaded guilty to five drug-related charges, all tied to the circumstances surrounding Perry’s death.

Prosecutors argued that Sangha played a key role in the ketamine supply chain and was directly involved in providing the dose consumed by the actor shortly before his death.

Although she faced a maximum sentence of up to 65 years in prison, U.S. District Judge Sherilyn Garnett ultimately handed down a 15-year sentence. The punishment is the harshest issued in the case, exceeding those given to the four other defendants, including two doctors accused of facilitating illegal access to the substance.

Perry’s death, which shocked fans worldwide, has drawn renewed attention to the dangers of controlled substances and the underground networks that distribute them. The case highlighted how potent drugs such as ketamine can circulate even in high-profile circles despite strict regulations, prompting a broader investigation into accountability among those involved.

Sangha’s sentencing marks a significant milestone in a complex and closely watched case. U.S. authorities say it sends a strong message against drug trafficking, while underscoring the tragic consequences such activities can have.
